Turkey And Black Bean Chili Recipe
ingredients:
2 pounds of lean ground turkey
16 oz of black beans
2 cups of chicken broth
1 cup of salt-free tomato sauce
1 jalapeno or serrano pepper
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 large onion, diced
3 1/2 tbsp of chili powder, divided
3 tsp of cumin
1/4 tsp of black pepper
1/4 tsp of white pepper
1/2 tsp of organic sugar
Directions:
Step 1: Brown the 2 pounds of ground turkey in a large pot and drain out all grease. Add the chicken broth and the tomato sauce to the turkey. Add the pepper of your choice and bring the mixture to a boil. Once it is boiling, add the black beans, drop in the diced onions, minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of chili powder. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to a simmer. Allow the mixture to simmer for 1 hour.
Step 2: Remove the pepper and crush it's juice in the pot. Drop in 2 1/2 tablespoons of chili powder, cumin, black and white pepper, and organic sugar. Boil for 30 minutes and drop in teaspoon of cumin.
Step 3: Cover the pot, allow to simmer for 15 minutes, and serve.
